The Grand Canal Issue

On June 22, 2014, China's Grand Canal Project was successfully listed as a World Cultural Hertiage Site. The Jiangsu section of the Grand Canal runs from north to south for more than 790 kilometers, The Grand Canal passes through eight national historic and cultural cities in, Jiangsu, namely Xuzhou, Suqian, Huai'an, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Wuxi, and Suzhou. Along, Jiangsu section of the Grand Canal, there are also seven World Heritage sites, 28 heritage elements, and over 5,000 cultural heritage resource sites of various levels and types. It involves 103 key intangible cultural heritage projects, with more than one third of the world cultural heritage resources, making it a true core area of the Grand Canal heritage.

The Yangtze River

Jiangsu is the only province in China that has "rivers, lakes, and seas." The Yangtze River flows from west to east and passes through eight cities in Jiangsu: Nanjing, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou, Changzhou, Wuxi, Suzhou, and Nantong, These eight cities are like eight brilliant pearls, showcasing the sound natural environment, profound cultural heritage, and happy life of the people on both sides of the river.
